Rules
Any and all rules are subject to be changed by the moderator at any time. Please understand this before you apply.

~You must have an AIM account. Period.

~Always run major plot ideas by the mods first (this includes suicide or escape attempts, or any other unruly behavior that would seriously break the rules of the institution).

~If your character attacks a staff member AT ALL, he or she will be removed from the medium security ward and therefor will no longer be a part of the game.

~If your character attempts suicide, or does something that could be considered suicidal, he or she will be removed from the medium security ward, and therefor will not longer be a part of the game.

~Do not join this game unless you are absolutely certain you can post at least once a week. Inactivity will not be tolerated.

~You must be 18 or older. Sorry.

~OOC comments are ONLY to be posted in the OOC community -Do not ever post OOC comments anywhere else.

~Your character's diagnosis must come from the DSM-IV TR. A list of disorders on the website can be found here. Differential/Rare/New disorders will not be accepted.

~When posting in the [info]amplified_rpg community, you must always used tags, whether you start the thread or not. For more information on tags, read this tutorial.

~No 1337 or chat speak. Be careful of bad grammar, spelling, etc. in the threads and logs. Dialogue or journal entries can be more flexible, since they are based on the knowledge of the character.

~Original characters only, must be believable (ie, must have believable flaws). Mary Sues/Gary Sues will not be tolerated. Nor will "Tragic" Sues. This is left up to the digression of the mods. Characters that are (essentially) you the player will not be accepted.

~To start, you may apply with only one character. Provided your activity level is decent, you may apply for another character three weeks later, and after that at the discretion of you the player. You may apply for up to five characters to play at one time. However, only four of them may be patients at any one given time. If you want to play a new character after five, you must write a character out.

~If you fail the activity check, you will be barred from apply for a new character for one month. You must pass the activity check before you can apply for a new character.

~Godmodding or Meta Gaming will not be tolerated. Your character will not know everything that you know, do not make assumptions about other characters, and do not supply the actions/thoughts of another player’s character without their permission.

~If your character is a MARY SUE, do not whine and moan if they are not getting the attention you want them to get. If you are going to play a character, make them right and solely for RPing purposes, not to live out your fantasy life. IE if your character gets romantically involved with another character, please do not get attached and emotional if the relationship is broken off. Real life is real life. This RPG isn’t.

~If your character is a patient, he or she is at a mental hospital. This means that he/she cannot have access to ANYTHING that could possibly cause him/her harm. No cigarette lighters, no nail polish, no knives, no screws, unless otherwise discussed with a mod.

~Excessive sexual content is not permitted. A bit here and there is fine, but it should not become all consuming in the game. Keep in mind that nurses are checking on the patients every fifteen minutes. Please place any threads with sexual content under a cut with a proper warning above. With proper development, relationships can form in the game, but smut for the sake of smut will be deleted without prior warning. Threads with excessive sexual content may be asked to be changed to "friends only" posts.

~When playing a log or thread in a patient's room, a good rule of them for the nurses coming in and out for checks is every fifteen comments. Use the [info]amp_nurse_anon journal for this, or simply mention it as a character. Threads in which the nurses ignored in order to get away with inexcusable behavior (such as sex) will be deleted without prior notice.

~Use proper log format, as follows, at the head of each log/thread:

If a thread, the characters mentioned section should be edited to include proper information after the thread is completed.

~For LJ-CUTS in a character's personal journal:

In regards to your journals, use LJ cuts for:
    -Private Entries (must be labeled "private")
    -Lyrics (ONLY lyrics, because they take up too much space). But in general you should not be posting lyrics in your character's journals unless there is a very good reason
    -Emails (must clearly state who email is being sent to)



Otherwise, please do not use LJ-cuts in your character's personal jouranls, even if it is long. It makes it too hard to know what is private and what is not.
